Lake Contrary Elementary is a PBS school. PBS stands for Positive Behavior Strategies and builds a positive school climate in which students are safe, valued, and learn everyday. We focus by building on 5 school wide expectations that spell, BEARS.

E - Everyone Matters
A - Achieve Success
R - Respect Others
S - Safety First
Students are recognized daily for displaying our 5 expectations no matter where they are in our school: classroom, hallway, cafeteria, playground, etc. They are also recognized quarterly at our assemblies as a Character Kid with our character kid t-shirt.
Thirteen staff members attended the Missouri School Wide PBS Institute in June 2011. We are excited and proud to implement a system that improves behavior, achievement, and school climate. For more information please visit, http://pbismissouri.org/
